Duo, including SF woman, stole $10K of high-end cigar lighters: SMPD
SMPD said they were notified on Oct. 21 about a burglary that occurred the day before at a commercial business on the 2400 block of S. El Camino Real.
The targeted business told San Mateo police that a female suspect distracted a store employee while her male counterpart hid and made off with the aforementioned lighters.
Police said the suspects, identified as Kiersten Kinser, 33, of San Francisco, and Dustin Becker, 40, of El Grenada, were detained during an unrelated traffic stop in Half Moon Bay. The two were placed under arrest and taken to San Mateo County Jail where they face several charges, including second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of burglary tools.
“We ask our community members to stay alert,” said SMPD in a news release. “We need community support in reporting crimes and suspicious activities.”
