Cat rescued, several residents displaced in SF Mission District fire

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Several residents were displaced, and a cat was rescued in a Thursday night house blaze in the city’s Mission District, said the San Francisco Fire Department.

The flames broke out on the 100 block of San Carlos Street, and crews were still on the scene putting out remaining hot spots, SFFD said in a social media post at 9:26 p.m.

SFFD did not disclose when the fire started.

San Carlos Street between 18th and 19th streets are blocked. There was no timeframe provided on when the closure would be lifted.

Commuters are advised to avoid the area.

The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
