Woman injured, man charged with arson in Jackson house fire
JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A man was arrested and a woman was injured after a house fire in Jackson.

The fire occurred in the 200 block of Louisiana Avenue after 11:30 p.m. on November 5, 2025.

According to Division Fire Chief Charles Felton, firefighters found a woman in the upstairs bedroom. She was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and is in the ICU unit.

Felton said a fire investigator determined the fire was intentionally set and will be classified as incendiary. He said Atmon Hackett was arrested and charged with arson.
