Victim of fatal I-15 crash identified by family
UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — Tuesday, a driver died after a traffic collision on southbound I-15 near milepost 285. The victim’s family has identified her as Chelsey Carlson.

On November 4, 2025, a dump truck that was hauling a flatbed trailer was stopped on the right shoulder on southbound I-15 at the point of the mountain, between Lehi and Draper.

According to Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), around 7:10 p.m., the driver of a passenger car collided with the back of the trailer. Unfortunately, the driver of the passenger car was fatally injured.

A family member has confirmed that the victim was Chelsey Carlson.

According to family, Carlson is leaving behind a 10-year-old daughter, a son in middle school, and a son in high school. She also has a twin sister and younger brother.

Carlson’s sister-in-law stated, “She was extremely well known” and “She was an amazing daughter, sister, mother & auntie.”

UHP stated that the dump truck driver was uninjured in the collision.
