Valley Rescue Mission partners with CSU’s Alpha Phi Alpha for “Homeless for a Night” event

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Valley Rescue Mission is joining forces with the Theta Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at Columbus State University for this year’s “Homeless for a Night” event — an initiative raising awareness and support for individuals experiencing homelessness in the community.

The event begins tonight, and the fraternity is collecting donations of canned food, clothing, and other essential items to benefit Valley Rescue Mission programs.

“Every can of food or bag of clothes changes a life in our community,” organizers said.

Where Your Donation Goes

  • Men’s and Women’s Addiction Recovery Centers – Providing food, housing, and support for individuals healing and rebuilding their lives.
  • Women and Children’s Shelter – Offering safe housing, nutritious meals, and resources for more than 20 women and children.
  • Fishes and Loaves Ministry – Serving hot meals Monday through Friday at 3 p.m. at Valley Rescue Mission on 2nd Avenue.

Community members are encouraged to stop by and contribute to the cause.
