Sweater weather ahead: Cold front to cool down the Big Country this weekend
As of right now, timing shows the front beginning its journey across the Big Country as early as Saturday, but since that is a couple of days out, that could change. Our coolest day is expected to be Sunday with a forecasted high around 60 degrees and an evening low of 48. Monday night we can expect a low of 35 degrees.
So far, no rain is expected in the forecast. All we can truly expect is sweater weather, so be sure to start dusting off those cozy layers and preparing your fireplaces. Unfortunately, leading up to this cold front, temperatures will be in the mix of the 80s, which is well above average. This aligns with the Climate Prediction Center’s forecast for November, which calls for above-average temperatures and dry conditions. While the flannels will be out for a few days, our temperatures tend to warm up soon after cold fronts move through.
Along with the rollercoaster of temperatures, we’re expecting gusty winds throughout the rest of the week. Winds will gust around 20 to 25 mph through Sunday, so any outdoor decorations may experience some turbulence. These winds, combined with dry conditions, will also bring an elevated fire risk soon.
As the weather continues to flip-flop, be sure to tune in for the most up-to-date forecast. Enjoy the sweater weather, Big Country!
