Keonna Lauts started the fundraiser for her daughter, Aislynn, who was shot on November 1st.
“[Aislynn] is 13 years old and is the victim of gun violence. Please help us raise money during this time so that we can adequately care for her. Anything would help and be appreciated,” Lauts wrote.
According to Rockford Police, officers were called to a home in the 1000 block of Harlem Boulevard at 7:55 p.m. on November 1st and located the shooting victim.
The police force’s Violent Crimes Unit identified the suspect as an 11-year-old male.
Police said he was located in Machesney Park on Tuesday, November 4th and taken into custody.
In addition to the felony charges, the juvenile also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
