Fishers police officers shoot murder suspect while serving warrant in northeast Indy
Fishers Police Department officials said Thursday that detectives were attempting to serve a warrant around 1:15 p.m. on a murder suspect living near E. 91st Street and Masters Road. This is a residential area near Sahm Golf Course on the city’s northeast side.
At some point during the attempt, police said shots were fired. While no officers were injured, the suspect was struck by police gunfire. That suspect has since been taken to the hospital. His current condition is not known.
The investigation is now centered on a car that crashed through a fence near the golf course. That car is now reportedly parked on a nearby putting green.
Fishers police said that Indiana State Police is now taking over the investigation into the shooting. Masters Road will be closed for some time as detectives look further into the incident.
