McFadden writes, “As your Sheriff, I consistently fulfilled all of the promises I’ve made to you during both my 2018 and 2022 campaigns. I have always engaged [in] factual, fearless, and faithful leaving a lasting impact and impression on our community, both locally and nationally, while making history.
I have clearly demonstrated the qualities of a fearless warrior and dedicated servant who we, the community, can’t afford to do without, especially during these challenging times. ‘A Man of His Word’ again in 2026.”
McFadden already has several opponents in next year’s Democratic primary. They include former sheriff’s office employees Rodney Collins and Antwain Nance, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Sgt. Ricky Robbins.
This year, McFadden has also been at the center of controversy as he faces lawsuits from former employees, accusing him of running a toxic workplace. The sheriff’s office also butted heads with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), both agencies accusing each other of failing to cooperate with each other. Recently, McFadden and his staff met in person with ICE representatives to work out building a better relationship.
