Duke Energy provides hunger relief grants to local nonprofits
Duke Energy provides hunger relief grants to local nonprofits
INDIANAPOLIS — Four nonprofits will receive grants from the Duke Energy Foundation to help support local hunger relief efforts.

According to a news release from the company, shareholder-funded grants will be given to four nonprofits in central Indiana. The nonprofits include:

  • Ecumenical Assembly of Bartholomew County Churches – $2,500 for holiday food program
  • Columbus Regional Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence in Bartholomew County – $5,000 for household supplies and grocery gift cards
  • Boys and Girls Club of Boone County – $6,000 to purchase food for after-school programs
  • Open Doors of Washington Township in Hamilton County – $15,000 to purchase food and holiday meals for the pantry.

“These organizations are consistently there for Hoosiers when hardships arise,” said Stan Pinegar, the president of Duke Energy Indiana. “There’s often an increased need for their services during the holiday season, and we’re grateful to collaborate with them and boost their positive impact on our local communities.”
