Customers told to immediately stop using 833,000 recalled exercise bikes after injuries reported
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Nov. 6
The recall includes “Peloton Original Series Bike+ Model PL02” bikes with serial numbers beginning with the letter “T.” The bikes are four feet in length and two feet in width with an adjustable seat and handlebar, according to the CPSC. People can find the serial number on inside the front fork, behind the front fork or behind the flywheel.
The CPSC urges people who purchased the bikes to stop using them immediately and contact Peloton for a free repair. Peloton is offering customers a free seat post to replace the faulty one.
Dick’s Sporting Goods and Peloton sold the bikes in stores nationwide. The bikes were also sold online through Amazon.com, ebay.com, onepeloton.com and dickssportinggoods.com from January 2020 through to April 2025 for just under $2,500.
Customers can call Peloton at 866-679-9129 from 6 a.m. to midnight EST Monday to Friday. You can learn more about the recall by heading to Peloton’s website.
