Chance for storms this weekend across AL and GA; Frigid temperatures next week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- Happy Thursday! It has been a dry and pleasant day as we wind down the week. Tomorrow, we are tracking a low-end chance for storms.

Friday: Clouds will begin to move back into the forecast Friday afternoon ahead of our next front. This front will also bring a small chance for stray storms late Friday evening. While the chance is low, one or two could be strong. Many areas are set to remain dry heading into the weekend.

Weekend: This unsettled pattern will continue this weekend. A second, stronger front will arrive overnight Saturday/Sunday morning.

This cold front will bring a line of isolated storms early Sunday morning, and a few stray storms Saturday afternoon. Behind the front, temperatures will only warm up into the lower 70s.

Next Week: While we are focused on the storms this weekend, everyone is already talking about the COLD weather next week. Readings will drop into the 30s by Monday morning, and unfortunately, they likely won’t get out of the 40s.

Tuesday is set to be our coldest morning with 20s in the forecast. This will be our first hard freeze of the season. Highs will be a bit warmer, reaching into the 50s. Conditions will slowly warm up by the end of the week, with lows in the 40s by Thursday.
