Burnsville police seek help in child abuse case
Burnsville police continue to investigate a man charged with sexually abusing minors and say there is reason to believe more victims have been harmed.
Charging documents in two separate cases allege Teodros Raymond Pluntz, 19, met with underage girls through social media apps, took them to his home and sexually assaulted them.
In one case, Pluntz is accused of posing as a 17-year-old to court a high school freshman when he was actually over 18.
The victim reported to police in June that Pluntz posted child sexual abuse material to social media in which her face is clearly visible; the posts refer to the victim as a “college girl.”
In September, when police began investigating a separate case involving Pluntz, the victim described an instance in which Pluntz sexually assaulted her when she had said no to his advances.
Another criminal complaint alleges Pluntz gave a 16-year-old alcohol, causing her to black out. Pluntz is accused of forcibly raping the victim while she was intoxicated, leaving marks and bruises all over her body. Investigators later found a video on Pluntz’s phone that shows him raping the victim while she “appears to be extremely intoxicated.”
Pluntz currently faces charges of first- and third-degree criminal sexual conduct, use of a minor in a sexual performance and possession of child sexual abuse material.
Pluntz is being held at the Dakota County Jail on $300,000 bail. His next court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 13.
Anyone else with information on Pluntz is asked to call Burnsville Police Detective Casey Buck at 952-895-4588. Tipsters can also text 952-215-8430 or email casey.buck@burnsvillemn.gov.
