SALT LAKE CITY (
ABC4) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ annual Christmas devotional is prerecorded this year and will not feature a live event.
According to a release from the Church, the annual devotional was prerecorded on the set of the “Savior of the World,” a musical created by the Church and performed at the Conference Center Theater in Salt Lake City. Because the devotional was already filmed, there will be no live performance.
The devotional will be “Christ-centered” and feature music performed by the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square, the Church says.
On Sunday, Dec. 7, the devotional will be streamed on several online platforms in dozens of languages, as well as on BYUtv. The Christmas devotional begins at 6 p.m. MST.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints states that decisions regarding the viewing of the Christmas devotional in meetinghouses will be left to local leaders. The broadcast will be available for downloading and streaming after it airs.
