‘Paws for a Cause’ raises money for breast cancer awareness, fighting for a cure
HAZLETON – For October — Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a local high school found a creative way to raise money for the cause.
The Hazleton Area Marching Cougars held their inaugural “Paws for a Cause” fundraiser.
Throughout the month, students collected donations at Hazleton Area home football games at Harman Geist Stadium.
The venture raised over $600 and the Hazleton Area Band Boosters will donate the proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Organizers say the money will go to help fund research, advocacy, and support programs for those affected by breast cancer.
The Shenandoah Sentinel was a proud supporter of the effort.
