A reported bomb threat at a western Wisconsin high school turned out to be false, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday at around 12:52 p.m., authorities received a phone call that there was a bomb at Frederic High School.
The school district was notified, which caused students and staff to be evacuated. Bomb detection K-9s were called in to do a sweep, but they did not find any explosive devices in or around the school.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the source of the threat. The school is expected to return to normal on Wednesday with an increased law enforcement presence.
