
Several candidates have filed for office in Marion County as the 2026 election filing period continues.Incumbent Chuck VonVelkenburg has filed as a Republican for Justice of the Peace District 1. Kale Wallace has filed as a Republican for JP District 5. Incumbent Leslie Kerwood filed as a Republican for District 6, incumbent Tommy Dorsey filed for District 8, and Miles Wellein filed as a Republican for District 9.
In countywide races, incumbent Jason Stumph filed as a Republican for county judge. Ruby Speak filed as a Republican for county and circuit clerk. Incumbent Gregg Alexander filed as a Republican for sheriff, and incumbent Tonya Eppes filed for assessor. Shari Sharp filed as a Republican for collector, and Cyndi Mueller filed as a Republican for treasurer.
In local school board filings, incumbent Curt Bryant filed for a position on the Flippin School Board.
Candidate filings are being accepted through noon on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
