According to a news release from Braun’s office, flags at state facilities should remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of Cheney’s funeral.
Cheney died at the age of 84 late Monday due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease, according to previous reports.
Cheney also served as the defense secretary in the George H.W. Bush administration and was former President Gerald Ford’s chief of staff.
“Governor Braun encourages Hoosiers to help honor Cheney’s life and legacy by lowering flags to half-staff at homes and businesses across the state,” the release said.
As of this story’s publication, Cheney’s funeral date has not been set.
