Boil water notice issued for McDonald Meadows and Alford areas

The Arkansas Department of Health has issued a “Boil Water” notice for the McDonald Meadows and Alford areas. The precaution comes after a main break caused a loss of normal system pressure, raising the possibility of contamination entering the water distribution system.
Residents in the affected areas are advised that water may be unsafe for drinking or food preparation. All water should be boiled briskly for at least one minute before use. Ice cubes should be discarded, and only boiled water should be used for making ice.

The notice will be lifted once bacteriological testing confirms the water is free of contamination and an adequate disinfectant level is maintained throughout the system.
