MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A jury found three men guilty on Wednesday in the 2021 drive-by shooting that killed 13-year-old Bay’Asia Loyalti Allah, court records confirm.

On November 5, 2025, Jamerik Garmon, Darius Roland, and Jamarius McLain were convicted of first-degree murder in Union Superior Court. A fourth suspect, Jarmari Crowder, was acquitted.

Allah, described by friends and neighbors as a bright and caring girl, was sitting at a picnic table along Icemorlee Street when she was shot and killed in July 2021.

Police Chief Brian Gillard said the shooting stemmed from a retaliation between two groups. A SUV had driven by the area when someone from the vehicle started shooting. Allah was shot and transported to the hospital, where she tragically passed away.

Sentencing details have not yet been announced.
