17-year-old charged in Jackson shooting during attempted robbery

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a 17-year-old was charged after he allegedly shot a 19-year-old during an attempted robbery.

The shooting occurred in the 5100 block of Brookview Drive on November 3, 2025.

According to police, the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect was not at the scene when police arrived.

Investigators said warrants were obtained for Morgan Jamone Brown, 17. They said he turned himself in on November 4, 2025, at Jackson Police Department (JPD) headquarters. Brown was charged with aggravated assault.
