According to a recent Emerson College poll, Prop. 50 is likely to pass.
While Prop 50 is the most high-profile initiative on Tuesday’s ballot, across the Bay Area, voters will weigh in on a number of other measures. They include Measure B in Alameda County, a Marin County recall of Fairfax’s mayor and vice mayor and Measure A in Santa Clara County.
Measure A would create a 5/8 cent sales tax that raises $330 million annually for five years to emergency, mental health and public safety services. The measure is meant to offset federal funding cuts.
Measure B looks to raise $13 million annually by taxing property owners five cents per square foot for 12 years. The money is for equipment upgrades to help reduce emergency room wait times and overall maintenance for high-quality health care across county hospitals.
