West Virginia State Parks offering 50% discount for military & veterans

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) – Military members and veterans can get 50% off if they book a stay at a West Virginia state park this month.

Veterans can use the code VET50 to get half off of most cabin and lodge stays in the West Virginia State Parks system. The stays must be between now and March 16 and be booked by Nov. 30.

Stays at Stonewall Resort, Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley Resort state parks are not eligible for the discount, and the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas (Nov. 24-30 and Dec. 22-28) are considered “blackout dates.”

“Our veterans and active-duty military personnel have given so much to protect our freedom, and this is one small way we can show our appreciation,” West Virginia State Parks acting chief Dillard Price said in a press release. “We hope this discount encourages them to take time to relax, explore our parks and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of West Virginia.”

To get the discount, a valid military ID card must be presented at check-in. You can browse lodging at West Virginia State Parks here, but keep in mind that the discount only applies to cabins and lodges.
