CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey held a press conference Tuesday to give an update on the efforts to fund food banks throughout the state and the operations of National Guard members.

During the press conference, Gov. Morrisey announced that he will call a special session if it is determined within the next two days that the $14 million designated for food pantries is insufficient.

This comes after Governor Morrisey announced the $13 million and challenged private donors to also donate to the food banks in hopes of doubling that amount. He said that the funds will be given to Mountaineer Food Bank and Facing Hunger Foodbank to use and distribute among their partner food pantries.
