PLEASANT GROVE, Utah (ABC4) — Police are searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a horse and rider with injuries.

The crash happened just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, according to Lt. Derek Shumway with the Pleasant Grove Police Department.

While preparing to cross an intersection at 2600 North Canyon Road in Pleasant Grove, a white SUV sideswiped the woman and her horse.

Medical responders arrived and checked the rider for injuries. After, she told officials that she planned to take the horse to the veterinarian to be assessed.

Lt. Shumway says that police were told both the rider and horse are okay but suffered some injuries.

Police know that the vehicle involved was a white SUV, but the license plate number was not seen, and the search for the suspect is still ongoing. Anyone who might have information is encouraged to contact the Pleasant Grove Police Department at 801-785-3506.
