Healthcare Express teams with nonprofits for winter drives

LOUISIANA/TEXAS (KTAL/KMSS) — HealthCARE Express locations across the area are hosting Cozy Winter Supply Drives all November.

The HealthCare Express Shreveport supply drive benefits Providence House, a local nonprofit that helps families experiencing homelessness.

Providence House is requesting children’s socks, warm pajamas for babies, hats, beanies, sweaters, long-sleeve shirts, and tennis shoes for kids. No jackets are needed thanks to a generous donation from Subaru.

HealthCARE Express CEO, Dr Spencer Reynolds, said, “Our mission goes beyond medicine. Supporting Providence House allows us to make a direct impact in helping children and families stay warm, safe, and cared for this winter.”

Three Healthcare Express Texarkana locations are serving as collection points for the Randy Sams Shelter.

Donations of gloves, hats, scarves, HotHands or other hand warmers, coats, and blankets can be dropped off at the Richmond Road Clinic, Arkansas Boulevard Clinic, or the Wake Village Clinic.

Dr. Reynolds stated, “Texarkana has a long history of generosity and heart. Through this drive, we’re helping ensure that no one faces the cold alone this winter. Every coat, blanket, and pair of gloves donated represents the compassion of this community.”

Each East Texas Healthcare Express clinic is partnering with a local nonprofit to have a positive impact on the community.

The Atlanta Clinic is partnering with Domestic Violence Prevention Inc. to support women and children in need. They are requesting coats, warm clothing, blankets, and anything for women and children.

The Marshall Clinic is partnering with the Tracy Andrus Foundation to help families across the area. They are requesting coats, sweaters, and socks for men, women, and children.

The Longview Clinic is partnering with Hiway 80 Rescue Mission. They are requesting warm scarves, hats, mittens, and blankets.

The Mt. Pleasant Clinic is partnering with RHUTE Haven MP. They are requesting blankets, coats, scarves, and gloves.

HealthCARE Express encourages donations to be new or gently used, clean, and in good condition.

Dr. Spencer Reynolds explained, “Each of our East Texas communities has unique needs, but they all share one thing: a heart for helping others. Every coat, scarf, and blanket donated makes a difference for someone in need this winter.”

All donations can be made at the associated clinic during regular business hours through November 30.
