District Attorney Marc Bennett confirmed the charge was filed against Angelynn Mock after prosecutors reviewed the investigation conducted by the Wichita Police Department’s homicide section.
On Friday, WPD responded to a home on East Crowley Street and found Anita Avers with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.
Mock was also hospitalized. Police arrested her shortly after her release.
She made her first court appearance on Tuesday afternoon. She is being held at the Sedgwick County Jail on a $1 million bond. Her next hearing is set for Nov. 14.
Mock was a former news anchor at the Fox affiliate in St. Louis from 2011 to 2015. She also worked at the Fox affiliate in Oklahoma City.
