SABINE PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Zwolle Assistant Police Chief Christopher Scott Goodman has been arrested after questions regarding a shooting he recently reported raised red flags.
An investigation, led by Sheriff Aaron Mitchell and his team began after Goodman reported that another vehicle pulled up next to his patrol car and began firing while he was driving along US Highway 171 near Old Pleasant Hill.
However, the details of Goodman’s account raised suspicions. Detectives from the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Louisiana State Police Troop E, discovered inconsistencies in Goodman’s statements.
Their findings, along with initial digital evidence and witness testimonies, ultimately resulted in the issuance of a warrant for his arrest.
Goodman was arrested on October 26, 2025, for allegedly orchestrating a fake shooting incident involving his patrol vehicle.

Following his arrest, Goodman was booked into the Sabine Parish Detention Center.
As of now, no bond has been set.
Although he remains officially employed by the Zwolle Police Department, he has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
