SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Election Day, Utah! It’s November 4th and with high pressure and a southwest flow in place, we will see daytime highs stay above average with dry skies statewide.

Temperatures this morning started in the 40s and will rapidly warm into the upper 60s to near 70 for northern Utah. Highs will climb into the upper 70s to near 80 for SW Utah. Our SW flow will become more pronounced Tuesday, and amp up for the midweek ahead of our next weather system.  Expect a breezy midweek with a few clouds into the afternoon but we should mainly stay dry on Wednesday.

The cold front will graze past northern Utah Thursday morning, bringing a chance for a few showers for areas along and north of I-80. Right now, areas south of Utah county look to remain dry with this frontal passage. Most areas north of I-80 are looking at only around a 0.10″ of rain possible. Some locations closer to the Bear River Range could pick up near a 0.25″, but not expecting a big rain event with this one. While everyone won’t receive wet weather, we will notice a temperature dip back to average.

High temperatures by Thursday and Friday will drop back gto seasonal norms with the upper 50s for northern Utah with highs in the lower 70s for southern Utah.

A couple of weak disturbances to our north may help to increase the clouds at times across the Wasatch Front Friday and into Saturday, but nothing significant is expected through the weekend. Highs will remain near 60° for northern Utah, and in the low to mid 70s for SW Utah.

High pressure will regain control into next week with a dry pattern at least through mid-month.  Right now, it looks we could eventually see active skies return with a wetter pattern  for the second half of the month which is a sharp contrast to October, which was the wettest October ever in SLC.
