ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Tuesday, Nov. 4 is Election Day for some, but not for us here in Illinois. It is, however, one year until the midterm elections, and voters will have plenty of decisions to make then.

Senator Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) is not running for reelection after serving as a U.S. Senator for nearly 30 years. Running to fill his shoes from the Democratic side are Lieutenant Governor Julianna Stratton,

and U.S. Representatives Robin Kelley and Raja Krishnamoorthi. On the Republican side, Mississippi native and former consultant Pamela Denise Long is running. Also vying for the seat on the conservative side is R. Cary Capparelli — a Chicago-born geographer and CEO.

In the race for U.S. House of Representatives, there are several districts up for grabs. Democratic Nikki Brudzinski (IL-13) and Republicans Mike Bost (IL-12) and Mary Miller (IL-15) are all up for reelection. On the ticket in the gubernatorial race, there are conservatives Ted Dabrowski, DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick and former Illinois State Senator Darren Bailey.

There will also be elections for State Representatives, State Senator, and other executive positions like Comptroller and Attorney General.
