Overlooked to Hall of Famer: Former LA Tech football standout inducted in Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame

RUSTON, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On November 3, 2025, the Green Bay Packers announced that Tramon Williams, a former Louisiana Tech football standout, was inducted into the franchise’s hall of fame. Williams was inducted alongside former Packer offensive tackle Earl Dotson. An Assumption Parish native, Williams was reportedly overlooked by college football recruiters; however, he went on to join the Louisiana Tech University football team as a walk-on during his freshman year.

During his time with the team from 2003 to 2005, Williams appeared in 33 games and collected 91 tackles, 7 interceptions, 32 pass deflections, and one forced fumble as a cornerback. After going undrafted in the 2006 NFL draft, the Packers signed him to their practice squad, and he worked his way into the team’s official depth chart, helping the franchise win Super Bowl XLV in 2011.

During his NFL career, Williams was part of the Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, and spent the majority of his career with the Packers. The pro bowler collected 677 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, 153 pass deflections, 34 interceptions, and two touchdowns during his time in the NFL.
