ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A Laplace man accused in a hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist in St. John the Baptist Parish has been arrested, according to the Louisiana State Police.

LSP officials said 19-year-old Kyrian Joseph Jr. of Laplace was arrested in connection with the crash on Monday, Nov. 3. He was booked into the St. John the Baptist Parish Jail. Troopers allege he was driving the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash, a 2018 Dodge Charger.

The crash claimed the life of 66-year-old John Martin of Montz. His body was found on Friday, Oct. 24, on Highway 628 near Chaisson Lane, after he was reported missing by his family.

LSP officials said his body had been there for several days before being found. They said he had been walking his bike in the eastbound lane when he was struck by a vehicle.
