Kansas Sorghum launches winter educational series

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – The Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission, in collaboration with Kansas State University, is launching the second annual comprehensive winter educational series on enhancing the profitability of sorghum across Kansas.

In this three day event, attendees will receive valuable data on key topics for both grain and forage sorghum such as: managing forage sorghum in water-limited silage, enhancing digestibility for cattle, weed management and more. The program will also discuss the future of sorghum crop systems, advancements in precision agriculture as well as crop improvement breakthroughs.

“The data and strategies we share through Sorghum Connection, whether it’s maximizing yield through fungicide application or fine-tuning cropping systems, are immediately actionable on the farm.” said Dr. Rodrigo Onofre, K-State Row Crops Extension specialist. “Sorghum growers need a space to connect, learn the latest disease management techniques, and stay at the forefront of the industry’s profitability trends. We strongly encourage every producer to take advantage of this unique opportunity to grow their success for the future.”
