Electrolux is planning a $23 million expansion of its Kinston, N.C. dishwasher factory.
The expansion will add stainless steel and hybrid tub production to the facility’s existing plastic tub operations, further bolstering the company’s U.S. manufacturing footprint, Electrolux said.
The company considers the 36-year-old Kinston plant a cornerstone of its North American operations, citing its “market-leading quality, cost efficiency and deeply committed workforce.” More than 60% of its employees have worked there more than 20 years, Electrolux said, and several have celebrated 35th anniversaries.
“This expansion is a testament to our commitment to U.S. manufacturing and our belief in the strength of the Kinston workforce,” said Ricardo Cons, president/CEO of Business Area North America for Electrolux Group. “We’re proud to continue investing in a community that has supported us for more than three decades, and to do so in North Carolina — a state with a pro-business climate that prioritizes and champions manufacturing.”
The capital infusion follows similar announcements by GE and Whirlpool, which are similarly beefing up domestic production amid President Trump’s aggressive tariff policies, intended to encourage U.S. manufacturing.
The Kinston expansion is expected to create 74 new jobs over two years, with the opportunity for continued job growth. Production of stainless-steel tub dishwashers is slated to begin in 2027.
