The findings come from iGaming experts Casinority, who gave 20 malls a ranking score out of 50 based on the following factors: crowding (footfall density, i.e. daily footfall divided by mall size), retail variety (stores listed in online directory, and department stores), and opening hours (center hours during Black Friday in 2024).
Sawgrass Mills in Florida performed best, scoring 36 out of 50. The mall is likely to be less crowded than others, as it provides 3.1 square meters of space per visitor each day, based on daily footfall and mall size.

At the other end of the scale, the lowest-performing mall is NorthPark Center in Texas, scoring just six out of 50. The mall is let down by its high likelihood of crowding, as a typical day sees 2.6 square meters per visitor. Retailer choice is also limited, with 175 stores listed in the online directory, including four department stores. Last year, the mall reportedly opened for 11 hours on Black Friday.
