Cedar Park Police officers fatally shoot stabbing suspect
The Cedar Park Police Department said the shooting took place near South Lakeline Boulevard and Fall Creek Drive.
Police responded just before 10 p.m. Sunday to a 911 caller who reported a stabbing had occurred at TopSpin, a bar located on South Lakeline Boulevard, according to Cedar Park Police Chief Mike Harmon.
Officers found one person who had been stabbed multiple times. Harmon later said the victim was rushed to the hospital and was in stable condition.
Officers located a person who they believed to be a suspect. A short vehicle pursuit ensued, and the suspect came to a stop a roughly a mile away. Harmon said that the suspect pulled out a gun, with officers shooting at the suspect and killing them.
“The officers are placed on administrative leave with pay. That’s department policy,” Harmon told reporters Sunday night. “We do have the Texas Rangers assisting us with the officer-involved shooting.”
No officers were injured during the incident.
