SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — It’s the first weekend of November and it will be a gorgeous one!

High pressure is in place which brings quiet conditions and warming weather. Wide blue skies are expected with only a cloud or two streaming through. Weekend temperatures will run about 5-8 degrees above average across the state. Daytime highs will top out in the mid 60s for most of the state, upper 60s to low 70s in southern Utah, and the St. George metro should reach the upper 70s. We could see periods of haze in northern Utah valleys thanks to inversion, but it doesn’t seem like it will build too bad.

Remember, this weekend is the time when we “fall back” with our clocks. Remember to set those clocks back an hour before you head to bed Saturday night. Daylight Saving Time officially ends Sunday morning at 2 a.m. We gain an hour but will get darker earlier, so get ready for those 5 o’clock hour sunsets!

The workweek kicks off on a high note as well with mostly clear skies and temperatures remaining in the mid to upper 60s in the north, upper 60s to low 70s for most of southern Utah, and mid to upper 70s for the hot spots. The warmth stays with us through the midweek, but we’ll start to see breezier conditions and increasing cloud coverage Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Thursday a cold front brushes northern Utah, dropping temperatures by about 10-15 degrees from the day prior for the north, and about 5 degrees cooler in the south. While that’s a significant drop, that actually brings us closer to where we should be this time of year. Thursday and Friday’s temperatures will reach the mid to upper 50s in northern Utah, upper 50s to low 60s in southern Utah, and low 70s for the warmest spots like St. George.

Enjoy the gorgeous weather and we’ll keep you posted on the latest developments in our 4Warn Weather forecast both on-air and online, we are Good4Utah!
