CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – No tricks, just treats! That’s the goal of both trick-or-treaters and law enforcement on Halloween night.

“Get outside, dress up and have fun with the family!” Cynthia said during a street festival in Old Town Clovis.

“We’re going to implement some traffic units and in the neighborhoods to slow down the parties driving fast,” Cpl. Mark Bradford from Clovis Police said.

Old Town Clovis and the surrounding neighborhood were bustling with kids and families. From trick or treating door to door to fun games and prizes at community festivals, it was a busy night in town.

Cynthia and Claudio are happy to celebrate Halloween for the first time with their baby. The family dressed as characters from Toy Story.

“This is our first Halloween with our little one. Yeah. We’re so excited to be here!” she said.

Clovis Police say with Halloween on a Friday, they’re expecting a busy night.

They’re watching out for drunk drivers and people speeding through neighborhoods while kids are outside.

California Highway Patrol officers are also patrolling the streets. Their maximum enforcement period is in effect, and it’s all hands on deck this busy holiday night.

“All available officers are going to be out on the road on patrol. That includes some of our management staff as well,” Officer Anthony Daulton said.

The CHP maximum enforcement period ends Saturday at 6 A.M.
