RTA adds buses for Halloween travel, begins ‘Roll to the Polls’ Saturday

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — On the “spookiest” day of the year, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority has all hands on deck to ensure people get to and from their festivities.

From 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday, three additional buses will supplement the St. Charles Avenue and Canal Street streetcar lines to help with the large amount of riders on Halloween night, according to RTA.

In addition to this, the Canal Street and Algiers Point ferry will run until 10:45 p.m. on Fridays, which riders should plan for.

Following the Halloween festivities, RTA will continue its “Roll to the Polls” campaign for the Nov. 15 election by giving free rides to voters. According to RTA, all bus, streetcar and ferry rides will be free on early voting Saturdays, Nov. 1, Nov. 8 and Nov. 15.
