“Trick or Treat at the Casey House” set for Thursday and Friday
Built in 1858 by Col. Randolph Casey, the Casey House is the oldest standing structure in Mountain Home. The historic home features two rooms separated by a dogtrot breezeway and was the site of the first county court and Mountain Home post office. The building is owned by Baxter County, with the Historical Society assisting in its maintenance. A grant has been awarded to begin roof renovations soon.
The Baxter County Historical Society meets the fourth Tuesday of each month. For more information, visit their Facebook page, Baxter County Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc., their website at www.BaxterCountyHistory.org, or the Baxter County Historical Museum at 300 Bomber Blvd. For more information call 870-425-2551.
