Moose wanders through Kansas cornfield, captured on camera
Caleb Mahin of Courtland, Kansas, captured rare photos and a video of the animal just before dusk.
Mahin said several locals spotted the moose earlier in the day near Courtland.
“Yesterday morning around 8 a.m. Clay Wallin and Bret Carlgren saw it cross the highway south of Courtland, and it ran into Mark and Doug Garman’s standing corn field,” Mahin said.
“Just before dark, around 6:45 last night, I jumped in my pickup with Warren, 5, Sloan, 2, and Mabel, almost 6 months old.”
That’s when luck struck for the Mahin Family. They went to the area where the moose had been seen earlier in the day, and sure enough, there it was.
Mahin said the moose ran out of the cornfield and into a soy bean field. He said the nearby cattle did not know what to think of the moose.
