Man linked to stealing credit cards, personal items from Livermore schools
The trespassing and theft incidents occurred Wednesday, according to the district. Surveillance video that was shared with Livermore police captured the suspect near the classrooms. Livermore police said they are actively investigating the case and “exploring all leads.”
“We were not aware until multiple staff members started reporting fraudulent activity on credit cards they realized were stolen,” said Michelle Dawson, of Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District, in a statement to KRON4. “We were able to identify one individual through security footage and can confirm his presence at four of our school sites.”
Parents and guardians were notified of the incidents in a message sent out Wednesday.
“He may pretend to be on the phone, looking for a classroom, or picking up a student, and is typically dressed in dark clothing, sometimes wearing a hat or mask,” said school district officials. He tends to enter during busy times such as dismissal or after-school hours and may take advantage of easily accessible entry points, such as MPR entrances or propped gates.”
Anyone with information on the investigation is urged to call Livermore police.
