Logan Zane Hunt, 31, was arrested in Salt Lake County today and formally charged with one count of theft with a value over $5000 (a second-degree felony), property damage or destruction worth over $5000 (a second-degree felony), and burglary (a third-degree felony).

Hunt allegedly stole over a dozen high-end sunglasses from an Optical Lens store in Draper and damaged the property on October 6, 2025, and told an ex that he was ‘doing it for [their] family.”

He is being held in the Salt Lake County Jail.

Case History

Officers with the Draper Police Department (DPD) responded to an Optical Lens store near 70 East and 100 South in Salt Lake County for a report of a burglary. When they arrived, the owner of the store provided them with video footage.

On the footage, a suspect wearing a ski mask can be seen breaking a window. He then reached inside and removed sunglasses from the shelves. Reportedly, the suspect took 16 high-end sunglasses that were valued at $18,386.

Additionally, they estimated that the property damage would cost $66,157 to repair.

On October 25, 2025, DPD officers spoke with a female individual about the burglary. The individual stated that she believed the suspect was Logan Zane Hunt, who she identified as her roommate that she had also recently broken up with.

The individual told law enforcement that she found several high-end glasses in Hunt’s vehicle, which was “out of the ordinary.” When she asked Hunt about it, he reportedly told her “I did it for our family.”

She also asked Hunt if he had stolen the glasses, to which Hunt responded, “Yeah but we are going to be good, I’m good.” Hunt also reportedly told this individual that he had punched one pane of glass at the store and kicked the other one.

When she was speaking with law enforcement, this individual said that the suspect from the footage had a ski mask that looked like her son’s ski mask. She also stated that Hunt had been arrested and his vehicle was impounded.

Officers conducted a search warrant of Hunt’s vehicle, where they found 12 pairs of glasses, which matched the ones reported as stolen. In total, the cost of recovered merchandise was $10,680.
