SFPD said officers responded to a shot spotter activation at 10:10 a.m. in the intersection of Turk and Fillmore streets. Police later located a man who matched a suspect description aboard a MUNI bus, a short distance away at Fillmore and McAllister streets.
There were no reports of any injuries.
SFPD said the suspect, later identified as Chess Scott Grisham, was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
Grisham was booked into San Francisco County Jail where he faces a list of charges, including shooting into an occupied building and felon in possession of firearm.
Despite an arrest in the case, this remains an active investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police at (415) 575-444 or text TIP411, starting the message with “SFPD.”
