BOGALUSA, La. (WGNO) — Bogalusa mayor Tyrin Z. Troung was indicted by a Washington Parish grand jury on multiple charges on Oct. 30, according to District Attorney Collin Sims.
According to officials from the 22nd Judicial District Court, Truong was charged with malfeasance in office, public intimidation and theft. The indictment came from an ongoing investigation involving federal, state and local agencies.
The 26-year-old mayor is being accused of “intentionally performing his job-related duties in an unlawful manner and/or knowingly permitting other public employees to intentionally refuse or fail to perform their duties in a lawful manner,” according to 22nd JDC officials.
Troung’s arraignment will be set for Nov. 10.
