HUNTSVILLE, Utah (ABC4 Sports) – Snowbasin Resort has once again been recognized among North America’s best, earning the No. 3 spot in SKI Magazine’s “Top 30 Resorts in the West” for 2026. This is the resort’s third consecutive year landing in the prestigious guide’s top three spots, and is the highest rated Utah resort.

Alta was rated as the 6th best resort, Deer Valley came in 9th, Snowbird was 14th, Solitude was rated 26th, Powder Mountain 27th and Park City came in at number 30.

The reader-voted survey celebrates excellence across all aspects of the skier experience, with Snowbasin earning Top 5 placements in Lifts, Grooming, Guest Service, Dining, and Terrain Variety. The resort also received strong marks in Terrain Challenge, Snow, Family, and Events & Festivals, underscoring its reputation as one of the most well-rounded mountain experiences in the West.

“Snowbasin serves up the type of vacation that feels simultaneously intimate and polished,” SKI Magazine reported. “The lifts are fast and efficient, the on-mountain lodges are grand and welcoming, and skiers of all stripes can suss out terrain that they find exhilarating, whether that’s the wide, groomed cruisers of the Strawberry lift or the open bowls and cornices of Needles Cirque.”

Big Sky in Montana was the #1 rated resort, followed by Banff Sunshine in Alberta, Canada.

This recognition adds to several top rankings for Snowbasin, following a No. 1 placement in 2025, and No. 2 in 2024 by SKI Magazine. The resort is also currently ranked No. 1 by USA Today.

“Being in the Top-3 for the third straight year is absolutely brilliant. I’m thrilled for the recognition my team deserves with this honor,” said Davy Ratchford, General Manager of Snowbasin Resort. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see our guests recognize the heart and hard work that goes into making Snowbasin such a special place.”
