(KRON) — San Jose police released photos Wednesday of the brazen suspects whom they believe cut down a statue
from Veterans Memorial Park last month and walked away with it in broad daylight.

The theft of a bronze “Momotaro” statue happened on Sept. 25 at 7:08 a.m.

“One of the two suspects was last seen walking northbound through the park pushing the statue in a shopping cart toward Park Avenue,” said police in a social media post.

While investigators acknowledge that the surveillance photos do not contain a lot of detail, they are hopeful that the public recognizes the suspects.
