ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC4) — A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing over $10,000 in merchandise from a jewelry store.
Dallas Hamilton Tall, 57, was arrested this week in connection with a jewelry store theft that occurred on October 25, 2025.
He has been charged with retail theft with a value over or equal to $5000 (a second-degree felony), possession or use of a controlled substance (Class A Misdemeanor), and use or possession of drug paraphernalia (Class B Misdemeanor).
Dallas Tall is being held in the Washington County Jail.
On October 25, 2025, officers with the St. George Police Department (SGPD) responded to a jewelry store on St. George Blvd after a report of a felony theft.
The employees of the jewelry store reported that a man named Dallas Hamilton had dropped off a wedding ring belonging to his spouse and had given them a phone number. The next day, he allegedly returned to the store and asked to take a look at a few different wedding rings.
Dallas asked the employees to open several display cases and they left one of those cases open. Then, he told the employees they could help another customer and said he was waiting for his wife to come look at the rings with him.
Reportedly, Dallas was observed reaching behind the case, removing an entire set of rings, and placing them into his jacket. He then reportedly remained in the store for a short period of time.
The store reported that the set of rings that were stolen included 10 rings and was estimated to cost a total of $10,000 in value.
Employees were able to provide video footage to law enforcement that showed the crime occurring and provided a photo that clearly showed the suspect.
Law enforcement used the video footage and the information that was given by the suspect to the employees to identify the suspect as Dallas Hamilton Tall. They took him into custody o October 26, 2025.
Following his arrest, Dallas’s wife allowed a search of the vehicles and home where he was found. Law enforcement also found narcotics paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine.
