Hebert, a duck hunter, is turning his hobby into a business after buying out his partner’s share in the venture. He is currently awaiting his Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) license to begin selling ammunition online.
“From the get-go, I told him I wanted to be part of it, and through our friendship, he offered to sell it to me,” Hebert said.
Hebert takes pride in carefully assembling each shotgun shell by hand, ensuring they meet the mandatory non-toxic requirements for waterfowl hunting in Louisiana. Hebert plans to sell ammunition strictly online initially, hoping to expand the business if it proves successful.
“Hopefully within the next month we should have our SSL license, then we’ll actually be able to start taking orders and sale,” Hebert stated.
Hebert expressed his desire to maintain a local business that supports his family and allows him more time with them.
“If I can make a living for my family and just stay local, that would be fine with me. But who knows what the good Lord has in store,” Hebert said.
Hebert is eager to start his business and looks forward to seeing where Chenier Shot Shells will take him, balancing his passion for hunting with his entrepreneurial ambitions.
