Domestic violence roundtable hosts self-defense class for awareness month
This marks the organization’s fourth self-defense class, part of its ongoing effort to teach people how to protect themselves and recognize the signs of abuse.
According to organizers, Georgia ranks in the top 10 states for domestic violence and is number one in teen dating violence.
“It doesn’t matter your income, it doesn’t matter your race, it doesn’t matter any of that — domestic violence can happen to anybody,” a Roundtable representative said. “If you are experiencing some sort of domestic violence, you can contact us, and we can direct you on the right path.”
Common signs of abuse include controlling behavior, insults that damage self-esteem, and isolating victims from loved ones.
